DISH

A broad dish with a flat everted rim, narrowing down to a ring base. Red earthenware, with a white slip on the inside, topped by a transparent, colourless glaze and painted over the glaze in reddish brown. At the center is a large lateen-rigged ship with its sails filled by the wind. The outer surface has been left with neither slip nor glaze.
